Gülermak's Tunnel Boring Machine successfully finishes tunelling between Fahrettin Altay and Narlıdere. This subway tunnel goes along the İzmir bay coastline. Very wet conditions.  With this breakthrough, the construction of the subway tunnel is now 82% complete.

İzmir Büyükkent (metropolitan) mayor Tunç Soyer has thanked the contractor Gülermak for the perfect job. The mayor said of parallel running projects in city. In addition to this Fahrettin Altay - Narlıdere, also Buca subway, Karabağlar - Gaziemir subway, Otogar - Kemalpaşa subway, Çiğli tram, Yeni Girne - Örnekköy tram.

Mayor said now there are 6 rail-based projects running. 4 of them subway. Project budget Billion Euro. He said, they did not receive support from Turkish government. He wish they received support from Turkish government he said.
