In France Bleu a cable theft in a tunnel is the news. Theft of 300 metre long cables forces the closure of two Paris tunnels, Ambroise Paré tunnel in Boulogne-Billancourt and the Saint-Cloud tunnel on the A13 motorway. The stolen cables are the ones used to control the fans to be used in case of fire in the tunnels. Therefore for security reasons DIRIF ( Île-de-France Roads Department) chose to close down the tunnels. The tunnels are expected to remain closed between 24 to 48 hours.

Cable thefts are very common in France in recent years.
