Belgrade subway construction starts in November with deputy mayor elaborating in further tunnel plans

    In an interview with the Express newspaper, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesić said that by 2030, the city will have two subways. Construction of the first subway starts in November this year and will be completed by 2028 to be followed in 2030 by the second one. There will be total 40 kilometers of subway with 21 stations.

    Deputy Mayor also said two road tunnels will be built. One will be called "city tunnel" will be at the Faculty of Economics, it is the most important tunnel and it is called the city tunnel.  This tunnel will alone reduce city traffic by 12% and pollution by 10%. The other tunnel will be  Topčiderski.
