The Tunnel boring machine (TBM) will bore around 10 kilometers of tunnel for the Line 6-Orange of the São Paulo Metro in the south direction to the São Paulo station Joaquim from Line 1-Blue. It will cover ten stations, between Santa Marina and São Joaquim, starting from the VSE (ventilation well and emergency exit) Tietê to the VSE Felício dos Santos.

The Spanish contractor Acciona has already drilled a 450 meter tunnel for the Line 6 but it was in NATM. Now starts the TBM method.
