Finally the Urban Environment Agency releases their report and the recommendation for the Røatunnel in Oslo. The report is already late. It was supposed to be released "by the end of 2021".

Akersposten reports that the short tunnel option has been recommended for the Røatunnel in Oslo.

Urban Environment Agency regarding Røatunnel recommends Oslo city council to go for the short tunnel (440 metre) option, instead of the long one (1335 metre  or 1025 metre, there are two values mentioned in the news) . This is despite the extra advantages of the long tunnel option, but because of the higher costs involved in building the long tunnel. The cost estimate for the short tunnel is NOK 892 million compared to NOK 1,305 million for the long one.

The tunnel is planned to reduce the through traffic through Røa and make the center of Røa available for more green. Oslo Municipality has already budgeted NOK 4,937,000 for the study of the Røa tunnel in 2022, and another NOK 4,750,000 for 2023. According to Akersposten's previous report, nothing has been budgeted for planning or construction.

Akersposten has excellent coverage of the report with maps etc. I recommend anybody interested in the project to get it translated and read:
