    With recent project wins and our growing project list, we are looking for experienced Senior Structural engineers who could be part of our major on-going projects like Femern Tunnel Project which is linking Denmark and Germany and it is the longest immersed tunnel in the world and the largest infrastructure project in Denmark’s history! Svanemøllen Stormwater Tunnel in Copenhagen. Västlänken: Underground railway tunnels and stations in the centre of Gothenburg and Fraser River immersed tunnel in Vancouver.

    DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS
    As a senior Structural engineer, you will join our global team of specialists designing a variety of tunnel projects. Your key role is to define / direct structural design tasks with a technical focus and while interacting with the team and clients.

    On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

    • Preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
    • Providing technical inputs on assigned structural projects assisting in the development of conceptual design, preparation / checking calculations, reports and drawings  
    • Technically directing the team or project, mentoring of staff, developing and implementing design best practices, ensuring design conformance with codes and client requirements
    • Leading of a design team or project, mentoring of staff, developing and implementing design best practices, ensuring design conformance with codes and client requirements
    • Assisting with construction support services
    • Working within a multi-disciplinary and multicultural engineering practice with coorporation between project members from different COWI offices
    • Building relationships with clients and other stakeholders through meetings and site visits

    To do well in this position, we believe you possess solid analytical skills and have a solid understanding of structural design. Along with this, you are self-motivated with good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. You plan, organize and complete your projects and tasks with limited to no supervision.

    Furthermore, you have:

    • Master's degree in civil engineering or similar field with more than 10 years of experience within structural design
    • Solid structural understanding particularly within design of concrete structures
    • Relevant structural design experience within tunnel and underground structures.
    • Ability to provide technical leadership and to supervise a project team
    • Finite element model experience (SOFiSTiK, Robot, SAP2000 or similar)
    • Experience with Revit, Tekla or Civil 3D
    • Interest in programming applications such as Grasshopper/Rhino, Dynamo or Python
    • Experience with preparation of proposals, fee estimates, and business development
    • Willingness to travel to meet clients or construction sites
    • Ability to communicate effectively in any Scandinavian language is an advantage
