    Alan Limbach

In yet another interesting development for the planned Quebec City - Lévis tunnel, ministers François Bonnardel and Geneviève Guilbault, unveil "light" version of the project with 25% savings.

The so called the "Third Link" to connect Quebec City and Lévis via a tunnel under the St. Lawrence River via twin bored tunnels is now going to cost an estimated $6.5 billion and with its commissioning delayed by one year to 2032. Previous cost estimates were up to $10 billion.

The savings in the cost by reducing the diameters of the twin tunnels to have two lanes each. In the new design, the buses will have reserved lanes only at peak hours.
