The latest iteration of tender for Lot 2 Lugoj - Deva by Romania National Company for Road Infrastructure Management (CNAIR) has received 6 bids. This part of the highway is called so called "missing link".

Six bids were submitted for the contract award procedure Design and execution of works for the major investment objective: Lugoj-Deva Highway (A1), Lot 2: km 27 + 620 - km 56 + 220, Section E and completion of Section D.

The very original deadline for tender was 31 January but many delays came.

Delayed by appeals by Greek company Aktor (rejected on January 26) and by many questions asked by interested parties, finally this time there are more than one bidder (one previous tender had one bidder).

CNAIR release following information for the 300 million euro section tender.

On Monday, June 27, 2022, the bids were submitted for the contract award procedure Design and execution of works for the major investment objective: Lugoj-Deva Highway (A1), Lot 2: km 27 + 620 - km 56 + 220, Section E and completion of Section D.

The Evaluation Commission will analyze the tenders in accordance with the provisions of the Award Documentation and with the legislation in force in the field of public procurement.

The estimated value of the contract is between 2,283,776,512.23 and 2,593,236,211.75 Lei without VAT.

Funding source: PNRR Source 12.

The deadline for completion is 11 months design and 34 months execution according to the evaluation factors in the Award Documentation.

The object of the contract is the design, execution and completion of works for the major investment objective Lugoj-Deva Highway (A1), Lot 2: km 27 + 620 - km 56 + 220, Section E and completion of Section D in length of approximately 9.13 km , of which 2.13 km of drilled tunnel.

Under the terms of the Environmental Agreement, the construction of two tunnels under Section E2 was foreseen in the context of avoiding stability issues and the negative impact with major environmental implications.

The length of the two tunnels will be approximately 2.13 km. The tunnels will consist of two unidirectional galleries provided on each traffic lane with a platform of 11.25 m.
