Following the construction of the 11,2 kilometer long undersea Eysturoy Tunnel with the world's first undersea roundabout and the under-construction 10.8 km long underwater Sandoy tunnel Faroe islands government has no intention to stop.
The national government of Faroes now plans to connect the southernmost island of Suðuroy with the Sandoy Island which is itself is in the process of having a fixed connection to the Faroe Islands' capital Tórshavn).
Only problem is, its high costs. The Faroe Islands Economic Council estimates the costs of such a tunnel at 5,6 Bllion Danish Kronas, reports KNR.
I personally wonder how the Faroes government will pull off this difficult project.
