Construction of the Shenzhen -Jiangmen high -speed railway officially start construction. In Guangdong -Hong Kong -Macao Greater Bay Area. It is bridge-tunnel project. 98% of total length is tunnel which is Pearl River Estuary Tunnel total length of 13.69 kilometer. Total length of the main line is 116 kilometers, and the construction period is 5.5 years.
Tunnel construction use Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) method. Tunnel is deepest 115 meters underwater at maximum hydraulic pressure of 1.06 MPa.
Two made-in-China TBM "Shenjiang No. 1" and "Shenjiang No. 2" used for construction.
