Korea is a very promising and fastly expanding market for faster and safer tunnel methods. This said by Huo Lei, vice president of China Railway Technology Equipment Group (CREG)  in an interview with E Korea Economy writes Dnews site in Korea. It defines also CREG as the world's largest TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) supplier.

Huo Ray was visiting Korea for TBM contract for Bucheon thermal power plant modernization project construction. Dnews reports that he has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korean tunnel construction company Gangneung E & C. MOU is for copperation of TBM supply, technology development and training.

For Bucheon thermal power plant modernization project, CREG supply a TBM especially customized for geology and purpose.

News article further states that CREG has good relations with Samsung C & T, Hyundai E & C, Dong -dong, Ssangyong E & C, and SK Eco Plant. They together also worked on international projects. Hou Ray does not see Korea as a market only for TBM. He also see a market for conveyors, smart tunneling solutions etc.
