"CREC 1207" earth pressure balance shield machine, developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group, a subsidiary of China Railway Hi-Tech Industry, with an excavation diameter of 11.66 meters, passed the customer acceptance at Pinghu General Assembly Base in Zhejiang Province and will be transported to the construction site of Metro Line 2 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is the first domestic shield machine exported by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group to the South American market.

It is also the largest diameter shield machine in the South American market.  The tunnel project of Sao Paulo Metro Line 2 mainly connects Vila Prudente Station and Penha Station, with a total tunnel excavation mileage of about 6500 meters and a maximum buried depth of 41 meters. The stratum of the tunnel is mainly composed of sand, silt and clay, accompanied by complex geological conditions such as large gravel and intrusive rocks. 

In view of the difficulties of the project, the project team of China Railway Engineering Equipment Group has made precise control and in-depth analysis and tailor-made the whole machine scheme of "CREC 1207". The equipment adopts a targeted design, such as double articulation and a large transition cabin. It carries an automatic zero assembly system to ensure the safety and stability of long-distance tunneling. 

It is reported that the project's contractor is a well-known enterprise in Spain and Brazil. The successful acceptance of the "CREC 1207" equipment fully reflects the high recognition of international customers for the quality of China Railway Engineering Equipment Group products.
