Dnews report Son Byung -Doo, head of the Construction Division of Korea National Railroad Corporation, will set up a “TBM revitalization business trip” consisting of the Policy Development Office, Civil Affairs Design, and Technology Research Office.

Trips will be organized to Europe and China to learn more about tunnel boring machine applications. One visit is to World Tunnel Congress 2023. Another one to Britain to learn about Crossrail tunnels. But real trip which matters is trip to CRCHI Tunnel Boring Machine factory in China.

In Korea TBM use is very limited compared to developed countries and mostly NATM used. But government wants to change it and also wants to create environment to start TBM manufacturing companies in Korea to sell to world.
