Norway: Breakthrough at e 3,400 meter long Rossåstunnel

    Project owner Nye Veier and the contractor Implenia Stangeland fire the last blast for a breakthrough at the  3,400 meter long Rossåstunnel tunnel on the new E39. Lyngdal's mayor, Jan Kristensen has pressed the detonation buttons and firing the volley of 1,100 kilograms of explosives for the final blast in the drill & blast tunnelling.

    The 10 km long road is being built with more than 70% of it consists of tunnels and bridges. Construction work started in late autumn 2021 and is due to be completed in the summer of 2025. The value of the contract is NOK 2.9 billion.
