September 15, 2023 : An inspection of the operation of the La Línea tunnel, of the operations control centers, of the works built along the Calarcá - Cajamarca corridor and, in general, of the operation of the road, was carried out by the director of the National Highway Institute, Invías, Mercedes Gómez Villamarín.

During her tour, the official reviewed the operation of the electromechanical equipment used for the operation of the tunnel, which includes the ventilation system, energy sources, control equipment, ITS (signaling) systems, as well as the rescue tunnel. and evacuation galleries.

The director of Invías also toured the bridges and some sites that require permanent monitoring to verify their behavior and foresee actions, with the consortium that operates and maintains the road, with the purpose of guaranteeing its proper functioning.

Gómez Villamarín emphasized the adoption of environmentally friendly and sustainable measures such as the possibility of obtaining solar energy for the lighting and operation of the tunnel. She stressed the importance of integrating infrastructure with the community as a means of economic and social development of the country, through which social justice is built.
