The governor of Antioquia, Anbal Gaviria Correa announced at the Expoingeniera 2023 the delivery of the first design for the 7 kilometers long Pacific Tunnel. It will  reduce the journey between Ciudad Bolvar and Carmen de Atrato from 1.5 hours to 15 minutes.

Governer expects the tunnel to be built in 10-15 years.
