    CRCHI Super Large Diameter TBM ‘Jincheng No. 1

    On the morning of October 19th, the super-large-diameter slurry TBM "Jincheng No. 1" built by CRCHI rolled off the assembly line at CRCHI Changsha First Industrial Park. The shield machine's cutter head is painted with the pattern of "Monkey King Bar", which has the beautiful meaning of that good luck. "Jincheng No. 1" is about 120 meters long and has an excavation diameter of 13.8 meters. It will become the slurry TBM with the longest single-head excavation distance and the one with the largest excavation diameter in Tianjin.

    "Jincheng No. 1" will be used in the excavation construction of the Jingu Haihe River Tunnel of the Tianjin-Weifang High-Speed Railway, contributing to the construction of "eight vertical and eight horizontal" Beijing-Shanghai auxiliary channels and coastal channels. The Jingu Haihe River Tunnel is the only TBM tunnel on the entire Tianjin-Weifang High-Speed Railway, and it is also the high-speed railway large-diameter TBM tunnel with the longest single-head excavation distance in Tianjin. The "Jincheng No. 1" TBM will start from the ultra-shallow stratum covering 8.5 meters of soil and excavate 6,014 meters northward. During the excavation, it will pass through areas with multiple risk sources, such as the Dagu Drainage River, the East Dagu Station of the southwest ring railway, and the Jingu First Line Overpass, the Central Avenue Overpass, the Haihe River and the earthquake fault zone, etc. It will be received on the south side of the Huxindao Park.

    In view of the key and difficult points of this project, the R&D team of CRCHI equipped the TBM with a number of intelligent devices and advanced integrated technologies, such as: accessible cutter head for soft soil, fiber optic cable type wear detection device for continuous detecting, telescopic main drive, synchronous excavation and segment assembly, and intelligent fine adjustment device for box culverts, to improve excavation efficiency, ensure construction safety, and provide strong support for the smooth construction of the Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway project.

     

    As the important part of "eight vertical and eight horizontal" Beijing-Shanghai auxiliary channels and coastal channels in China, Tianjin-Weifang high-speed railway is a key project to improve the Beijing-Shanghai comprehensive transportation system. The construction of the Tianjin-Weifang High-speed Railway can make up for the shortcomings in the development of high-speed railways in coastal areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and Shandong Peninsula, and improve the traffic conditions along the line. It drives the economic development of urban agglomeration in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Bohai Rim region and the Shandong Peninsula.
