Brazil: Judge orders US$48m fine for parties including construction giants over 2007 collapse of São Paulo Metro killing 7

    The Court of Justice of the State of São Paulo (TJSP) fines R $240 million on executives and companies for the collapse during construction work of the São Paulo subway in 2007. Tradingview sources the news to AFP. Collapse had occurred at the site of station construction. A large sinkhole collapsed killing 7 workers and swallowing in several trucks and other construction equipment.

    News says condemned parties include big Brazilian construction companies OAS (current name Metha Group)Odebrecht (current name Novoonor), French company Alstom as well as directors of the municipal transport company.
