In Netherlands, route planners send cars to a tunnel that has not yet been constructed
It is in the news in The Netherlands. The 2,5km long Corbulotunnel near the city of Leiden is in still construction. When finished it will be an important part of the Nieuwe Rijnlandroute (N434) between the A4 near Leiden and the A44 near Wassenaar. But it will not finish until 5 June. Yet the motorists are sent to that non-finished tunnel by the car navigation systems.
Reason? The completion of the construction is delayed for various reasons - not least because of a fire- for several months. But the navigation systems had already incorporated the tunnel into their maps. Thus!
