Economedia reports, after a lavish launch, after one month, the contractor company Aktor bores only with their first tunnel boring machine (TBM) "Eleni". A second TBM "Varvara" will start soon to bore. A third TBM will bore double gallery Homorod tunnel.

Apața-Cața railway tunnels are awarded to Greek company in 2020 with Aktor and funding comes from European Union CEF Connectig Europe Facility program. All tunnel boring machines are from German company Herrenknecht.
