İzmir Büyükkent (metropolitan) mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay has inspected the construction work of Üçyol - Dokuz Eylül University Tınaztepe campus - Çamlıkule line of the Buca subway.

13,5 kilometer tunnel is bored with 4 tunnel boring machines (TBM). The subway construction is done completely with local sources of the municipality. İzmir always votes for the opposition party CHP. The ruling Ak Parti of Erdoğan does not provide any funds for such projects of opposition-ruled local administrations.

The new subway line will cost 765 milyon euros including the subway trains. It will carry daily 400 thousand people.
