Poland: Open Days of EU Funds with PLK SA, the Polish railway infrastructure compan

It was possible to see up close the largest railway investments in Poland - the Warszawa Zachodnia station and a part of the underground railway route d Fabryczna - d Kaliska/d abieniec, which are being built thanks to support from EU funds, during the Open Days of European Funds. Attractions for residents were organized by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. on the occasion of Poland's 20th anniversary in the European Union.

Railway workers, together with passengers and railway enthusiasts, celebrated Poland's 20th anniversary in the European Union. On this occasion, it was possible to see the construction of Western Warsaw and the railway tunnel under d up close. These are the largest railway investments in Poland co-financed from EU funds.

Work on the construction of the Warszawa Zachodnia station is well advanced. Participants of the technical visits could see, among other things, the underground passage under construction and the interior of the station building. At Zachodnia, there was also a stand of the Safe Passage campaign waiting for participants of this year's Open Days of European Funds. In d, on the occasion of Poland's 20th anniversary in the EU, railway workers presented the construction of the Polesie stop to interested parties. Then they watched closely a large TBM machine named Katarzyna, which was drilling a double-track tunnel under the city center towards the Fabryczny Railway Station. On Saturday, technical walks with residents were organized at the d Fabryczna station.

The reconstruction of the Warszawa Zachodnia station will provide passengers with better traveling conditions. The new platforms will be connected to two Warsaw districts by a footbridge and an underground passage. The station will be covered with a roof. The work carried out is co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment. More details about the investment are available at http://www.stolicadobrychrelacji.pl.

The construction of the tunnel will open d and the center of Poland to new connections that will allow for better use of the potential of d Fabryczna - communication and commercial. The train ride through the city between the main stations will be shorter. The project is co-financed by the European Union. Details of the investment can be found at http://www.tunel-laczypolske.pl.
