-Held by the MoL; winders selected based on the evaluation results of the advanced construction technologies… two prizes this year, as were the previous year.
-“Will continue corporate-level endeavors to develop new technologies to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.”
On the 3rd, DL E&C announced that it won two Innovation Prizes in the “2024 Smart Construction Challenge Award” ceremony held recently by the Ministry of Land and Transportation.
The Smart Construction Challenge Award ceremony was held by the Ministry of Land and Transportation to promote and proliferate smart construction technologies. The winners of the Innovation Prizes are selected based on the evaluation of the state-of-the-art technologies that can innovate the construction industry in a safer and more efficient way in sectors such as △ BIM, △ Railway, △ Safety Management, △ Compounds and Housing, and △ Road.
DL E&C’s two Innovation Prizes were endowed in recognition of the ‘BIM-Based Civil and Pile Smart Construction Management Solution’ in the Building Information Monitoring sector and the ‘Emergency Automatic Tunnel Closing System’ in the Railway sector.
First, the BIM-based Civil and Pile Smart Construction Management Solution is a technology that allows the management of the entire process of a construction project, starting from the awarding of the project to quotation, construction, and settlement, in a single swipe. The BIM, drones, AI, sensors, and other unique technologies of DL E&C allow meticulous management of the construction, safety, and quality.
Using this solution, it is possible to save cost, shorten the construction period, and secure safety and quality through △ 3D BIM-based designing and quoting, △ managing the progress of the construction work using drone date, △ pile insertion and rebound amount measurement automation, etc.
Another system that won this year’s Innovation Prize, the ‘Emergency Tunnel Closing Automation System’ is a technology that DL E&C used in ‘GTX-A Sector 6.’ The sight of this project is the leg that stretches underneath the Han River and is of the highest level of difficulty among all sectors of the GTX-A project.
To respond to an underground water leakage accident while tunneling, DL E&C installed inflaters inside the tunnel. With this, the inflator can inflate when there is an underground water leakage to prevent flooding of the tunnel and save the time for the workers to evacuate.
Since this technology can be applied to many different tunneling methods, it is expected to contribute to a safer working environment for other projects in the future.
DL E&C won Innovation Prizes in the Complex and Housing sector and the Railway sector in the awarding ceremony last year. The company is leading the industry as it actively introduces the latest IT for the management of quality and safety.
A source from DL E&C said, “We continue to develop new technologies based on the highest digital technological prowess to ensure customer satisfaction and safety,” adding, “ and will continue to lead the industry by solving one problem and overcoming one limitation of the construction industry at a time through smart construction technology.”
