Three firms interested in electrical contract with Statens vegvesen in Buskerud.

When the tender deadline expired on March 4, three contractors had signed up for the competition to operate and maintain electrical installations along the national roads in Buskerud.

The contractor that is selected will operate and maintain tunnels, road lights, signal systems, weather stations and other electrical installations along the roads on the national road network in Buskerud, including E134 in Asker municipality. Statens vegvesen (The Norwegian Public Roads Administration) is the client.

The contract is valid from September 1, 2025 and for five years, with the possibility of an additional three years.

    More technology along the roads

In addition to 21 tunnels and approximately 6,000 road lights that will light up along the national road network in Buskerud, there are increasingly more electrical installations on and along the roads.

The road network contains a number of different sensors, weather stations and cameras. These provide both Statens vegvesen and road users with useful information. Good operation and maintenance of electrical installations is just as important as monitoring the road itself.

The electrical installations are also crucial for safety. An example is cameras installed in tunnels. When an incident occurs in the tunnel, the cameras will immediately register, notify and transmit images to the road traffic control center.

Three compete for the Buskerud contract

These contractors have submitted offers for operation and maintenance of electrical installations along the national and European roads in Buskerud and the E134 in Asker:

    Mesta SET Elektro AS Traftec

Statens vegvesen will now check and quality-assert the offers before a contract is signed during the spring.
