          One can only have sympathy for the residents. Some tunnel exits are as shallow as 6 meters under somebody's bedroom. Nonsense design.

            Elon Musk was not a rocket scientist either. I am sure those rockets are more complicated than tunnel boring machines.

              Geology of the channel made it a very easy tunnelling project. You can see that they can cut the tunnel like cutting cheese.
