"Tunnel under Fort Lauderdale’s New River being considered"
Dean Trantalis, mayor of Fort Lauderdale, prefers a tunnel rather than a bridge. RT&S says "it would cost $3.3 billion.to build and $8.2 billion annually". I think there is a typo with the maintenance figure, It must be in millions not in billions.
