Purpose of the job
The Align Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of the ALIGN site surface geotechnical works including shallow and deep foundations (eg piling), supporting walls, ground treatment and assist where necessary with the tunnelling team on geotechnical issues.

Responsibilities

• The ALIGN Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for the:
• Provision of geotechnical expertise and experience to the ALIGN Technical team
• Design review and optimisation of the proposed ground treatment and pre excavation grouting works
• Geotechnical supervision and management of foundations including piling and supporting walls
• Liaising and reporting with designers regarding site works
• Review, analysis and reporting of the instrumentation along the surface alignment
• Professional development of the geotechnical team
• Monitoring Contract deliverables
• Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Management Plans.
• Compliance with all Company’s Policies and Procedures.
• Undertaking other such reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

Skills & Experience

• BSc (and preferably an MSc) in geotechnical / geological engineering or similar
• CEng and/or CGeol
• To be have experience in industry standard software for geotechnical works and reporting
• Experience including site works ground treatment, piling, D Walls and injection grouting.
• Experience of working in Chalk is desirable
