Anas (FS Italiane Group) and the construction contractor Edilmaco restarted excavation works for the new Tenda tunnel.

The work was sysoended in March after the COVID-19 emergency came.

The new Tenda tunnel project is in fact addition of a second tube to the already existing tunnel between Italy and france. The new tunnel is 3.3 km long and has a diameter of 9 meters. When finished, it will be used for one-way road traffic form Italy to France. The existing bi-directional tunnel tube will be expanded in diameter and converted to one way traffic from france to Italy. Project budget is €102.
