Representatives of the political parties Italia Viva, The League, Democratic Party and Forza Italia have organized a meeting on the Fontanabuona tunnel project plans. It is a plan to connect the Statale 225 to the A12 motorway, between Ferrada di Moconesi and Rapallo.

Ligurian parliamentarians support the Fontanabuona tunnel construction. Talking to Riviera24, e former deputy minister of infrastructure says that  writes that tunnel project has been in the plans of the ministry but they kept shelving it. One problem they say that new European Union tunnel safety regulations do not allow single tube bidirectional tunnels for tunnels over certain length. This increases the costs. It might be the reason the project plans have been shelved for now. But a decision may be taken by 8 July.
