Rob Butler, an MP for Aylesbury has asked the prime minister for his thoughts over the refusal of a bored tunnel under the village of Wendover to ease noise pollution, only to hear back that the PM "feels the pain" without any real answer. The tunnel had been rejected on the grounds of cost.
Wendover Parish Council had appealed again against the HS2 plans for the Chilterns section. The Council thinks a mined 4.2km tunnel will be less destructive and cheaper as opposed to current plans for a viaduct and a cut & cover tunnel.
