    The headline of the article can be misleading. It sounds as if the constuction company dumped the TBMs from "Japan, Germany, US and Italy" in Phase II. No. They used TBMs from these countries. It is just that for the Phase II of the project, they chose Chinese CRCHI TBMs.

    The Chinese tunnel boring machine (TBM) manufacturer #China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (#CRCHI) had completed factory acceptance tests (FAT) of four new slurry TBMs in November and December 2019.

    The first two TBMs are currently in-transit and are expected to arrive in Bangaluru by January-end 2020.
