Samara's existing metro line will be extended from Alabinskaya station. Extension tunnel will be laid under Samarskaya street. It will be from Novo-Sadovaya to Samarskaya square (a new Samarskaya station will be built there). Construction will start earliest in 2022.

In addition to extension of current metro line,  a completely new second metro line is planned. From Frunzensky Bridge to the railway station underground - along the banks of the Samara River. It will be 9km long with 6 stations.  The development of the project for the first stage of work is scheduled for 2022–202 write Niasam.
