Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plan a underground tunnel that cross downtown Suwon city. Project is called Osan-Yongin Expressway project. It is 17.2km long. Tunnel is 8.3km long. Kyeonggi write.

It will cost 91.3 billion won. Ministry currently negotiate with Hyundai E&C consortium for project plan. Hyundai E&C is preferred builder. Project hope to start in September 2022 and finish after 60 months in 2027.

People concerned. Because tunnel 70m underground go under urban are. It will have ventilation shaft. Neighbours worried of their health. Because of dust and fume from shaft. People also worried sinkhole possibility.
