Sund & Bælt writes that Femern A / S has pre-qualifies 3 consortia to compete for the task of establishing a large transformer station (largest in Denmark) that will supply the 18km long Fehmarn tunnel and the railway between Denmark and Germany with green electricity.

The transformer station must also have the capacity to supply power to electric vehicles. The transformer station will be located near the tunnel portal at Rødbyhavn.

The consortia in the race are:

• Bravida-Efacec-GE-Consortium (Denmark, Portugal, Germany)
• Elecnor (Spain)
• Siemens Aarsleff (Denmark)
