TBM arrives incorrectly wired by the China manufacturer and then the electric drives need repair

Blacksnake Creek Tunnel in St Joseph in Kansas. USA. Super Excavators reports progress despite some "setbacks" with the Chinese tunnel boring machine.

"Setbacks stopped the project more than once, but Garbeth says they are making progress and have an end date in sight.

According to the St. Joseph Public Works Department, the machine was wired incorrectly for American use by the Chinese manufacturers and had to be completely rewired before tunneling could begin. Then electric drives had to be repaired after a failure."

The link says that the Chinese company sent the experts and got the issue resolved at no cost. I am sure such issues also happen with other manufacturers.

That can really happen to any manufacturer but mostly to manufacturers with subpar quality control. At the end it cost the manufacturer a lot of money to absorb the costs of setting it right. Sloppiness  is always costly.
