Finally after 10 years of deliberation and talk, the Bergen City Council has to make a decision on this Wednesday.

Should the extension of the Bybanen (Bergen Light Rail) to Åsane be via a tunnel or over the ground?

Politicians will be voting on Wednesday on whether the Bybanen to Åsane should go along the iconic world heritage Bryggen or in a tunnel. The governing politicians (from  Labor Party, the Green Party, the Liberal Party and the Christian People's Party) in Bergen oppose the tunnel. Despite this, tunnel option is still a strong possibility.
