Hong Kong Commercial Daily inform december 17, left hand tunnel of Fanfan section breakthrough. Right hand finished in September. Fanfan section is between Panyu Square and Panyu Station. Two parallel tunnel 1780 metre for each tunnel. It is first section Guangzhou Metro first extension Line 3. Total Line 3 east extension from Panyu Square Station Line 3 to Haibang Station Line 4 9.58 kilometer underground tunnel.
Left hand tunnel digged TBM 3-1. Right hand tunnel digged TBM 3-1. Plans use 6 tunnel boring machine in all Line 3 east extension 9.58 kilometer.
Hong Kong Commercial Daily inform for difficult geology and safety Guangzhou Construction Shield Construction Company use "steel sleeve receiving" method for TBM breakthrough. Circule steel sleeve sealing device with inner diameter 6.5 meters length 11.5 meters at construction site. TBM breaks out plastic sandy clay layer in 10 meter deep and directly enter steel sleeve structure. So opening of TBM does not leak when TBM launched or when earth complex and earth pressure much. Steel sleeve receiving method replace traditional method ground reinforcement. Less construction work and better for environment.
