Afcons - SAM JV beats 8 other contenders and gets the contract for Kanpur Metro Phase 1 to construct tunnels & underground stations - KNPCC-06

    The joint venture (JV) of Afcons Infrastructure - SAM India has been awarded the contract for the 'Design  and  Construction of TBM  Tunnel, Cut  &  Cover Tunnel, underground ramp from Kanpur Central end of Nayaganj station to elevated ramp after Transport Nagar and three underground metro stations (viz. Kanpur Central, Jhakarkatti and Transport Nagar) including Architectural finishes, E & M, TVS, ECS etc. on Corridor-1 of Kanpur MRTS Project at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.'.

    Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) Ltd.'s open e-tender for “KNPCC-06  floated  on International Competitive Basis (ICB) was open to eligible applicants from all countries and all areas. The project is funded by EIB - European Investment Bank to the tune of 600 million Euro loan.

    • Larsen & Toubro
    • Tata Projects

    Afcons - SAM JV bid is reportedly (see Metro Rail News link below) Rs. 1087.67 crore is significantly lower than other bidders. Kanpur Metro Line-2 is about 8621 meters of tunnels with 7 stations. Permat Ramp - Nayagani section is already being tunneled by  GULERMAK - SAM India JV.
