Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL Project) achieve important milestone. Excavation of the 1911 meter long Tunnel T-77D has been finished. As the excavation method Drill and Blast method has been used.

Tunnel T-77D in between the Banihal-Arpinchala section of USBRL Project of Northern Railway. With the   345 km. long railway line USBRL project, Indian government aims to connect the Kashmir Valley with the Indian Railways network. The Project has been declared as a Project of National Importance in March 2002.

The USBRL railway line passes through the young Himalayas, tectonic thrusts and faults.
