According to BurnabyNow, the police are investigating a GPS device illegally planted on the TBM which is boring a 2.6-kilometre tunnel through Burnaby Mountain for the expanded Trans Mountain pipeline. The tunnel boring machine has already excavated more than 800 meters.

Reportedly, the GPS tracking device has been discovered as it was being readied for excavation. It being a GPS device, obviously the intention was to track the transportation of the TBM on the surface, before it started boring. According to BurnabyNow, the device is only for sale in Europe and it must have been used to track the shipment all the way from Germany. Greenpeace has no comments.
