Design Engineer for Tunnel Control and Monitoring System

The position
You will become part of the Electrical and Mechanical Department within the Technical Division..

Working alongside the Design Manager for E&M Control Systems, you will be part of the E&M team representing the Owner and guiding the contractor in fulfilling the design requirements for the ICA system and the IT-platform. You will be responsible for the follow up and review of the contractor design process for the ICA system, together with the Femern consulting team.

The ICA system is the Femern control and automation system (SCADA), and represents the extensive industrial OT and IT sub-project within the Femern project. The Femern ICA project includes a tight integration between the instrumentation and equipment deployed in the tunnel, control logic based on centralised server installations, data network and extensive data collection to support for advanced future operation and maintenance.

Your key tasks will be:

• Support the work of the E&M function, in compliance with internal & external mandatory requirements
• Review of design packages within the ICA system and overview compliance with internal & external requirements
• Participate in the Task Analysis with the contractor including workshops about the future HMI and work procedures for the control system
• Follow up and guidance of the design process for the future S&B control room
• Manage internally and externally interface coordination related to the ICA system
• Change Management in relation to control and monitoring systems
• Support and facilitate the common overview of the overall OT and IT system architecture

Your profile:
You have a degree in electronics engineering, computer science/engineering or similar and min 5 years’ experience from similar complex large-scale projects, preferable in electro-mechanical, infrastructure projects, process industry and/or railway contracts.

The ideal candidate will have experience on the following key competencies and qualifications:

• Design and implementation of control, monitoring and SCADA systems preferable on large scale design and build contracts
• Experience in Mmodern IT technologies such ande.g. enterprise service bus (ESB), layered architecture and massive data collection, IT security for data network and OT systems
• Large scale software projects involving complex interfaces and user interaction, HMI
• Experience with software development processes involving multiple stakeholders and user groups
• Industrial IoT, data collection and advanced analysis
• Experience in working with use cases as a tool for defining the future work environment and RAMS will be considered as an advantage
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical requirements and issues clearly
• Bilingual or professional proficiency in English
• Enthusiastic, good team player, self-motivated and pro-active with good attention to detail
