ASTV reports, Minister for the Development of the Far East Alexei Chekunkov said today that the fixed line in the form of a railway bridge to Sakhalin is not among the priority projects. Reason is the cost. The area of the planned bridge has no transportation infrastructure and building one will cost more than the fixed link itself.

Vladimir Putin still considers the bridge and important one and has not removed from agenda.

A tunnel to Japan is also in doubt now after Russia places Japan in the list of unfriendly countries.
