In Ufa (Russia), the construction of the Eastern exit is 50% completed

Builders already declare 50% of construction for the Eastern exit project in Ufa. It is being built by “Limakmaraşavtodarogi”, a consortium of Turkish company Limak and Marashstroy.

Ufa city centre road tunnel is 60 metres under the gound. 1245 metres long.  It's purpose is to connect the highways M-5 Ural and M-7 Volga to lighten the traffic in this part of Russia.

Original construction started in 1992. But soon construction faced many problems. One of them was a nearby river. The unstable ground made construction very difficult. There was only 20 metres progress in a month. Finally construction suspended in 2007.

After 13 years of no work, construction started again. But this time a foreign contractor does the job. In addition to the main tunnel, two more parallel running road tunnels has been added to the project. Work is planned to finish in 2023.
