Spain's Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) tenders a tunnel repair work;

Mitma tenders for 1.17 million euros the repair works in the evacuation gallery of the Piqueras tunnel, located on the N-111 08-18-2022

The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has put out to tender, for 1.17 million euros, the works contract for the repair of the evacuation gallery of the Piqueras tunnel, located on the N-111 road, between the p.k. 261,340 and 263,870, between the municipalities of Poveda de Soria (province of Soria) and San Andrés (La Rioja).

The evacuation gallery, with an approximate length of 2,500 m, runs parallel to the tunnel itself, and has a vaulted section with a useful width of 5.00 m. In October 2020, landslides occurred around 1,467 m from the entrance mouth (Soria side), which led to the inspection of the entire length of the gallery to characterize its condition and determine the needs for action.

Thus, the set of actions is aimed at repairing the detached area, as well as ensuring the stability of the section in the section between meters 1453 and 1478 from the entrance to the Soria side and reinforcement of all those areas of the gallery that present a geometry in the form of a flat roof. Likewise, the replacement of the electrical installations affected by the detachment and the installation of control sections of key convergences, shoulders and gables for their auscultation are contemplated.
