CREG's Box Jacking Machine has once again demonstrated its effectiveness in a major infrastructure project. The company's equipment has helped our client CPBJH JV successfully deliver the first cross passage in the West Gate Tunnel project in Melbourne.
The assembly and commissioning of the Box Jacking Machine was completed on March 5, with tunnelling launching the following day. Just five days later, on March 10, the breakthrough was achieved, marking a milestone in the project's progress.
The cross passage measures 7.5 meters long and consists of five segments, including two 1.2-meter-wide and three 1.7-meter-wide segments. CREG's Box Jacking Machine played a critical role in the success of this undertaking, demonstrating its ability to handle challenging tunnelling projects with precision and efficiency.
"The successful completion of the first cross passage in the West Gate Tunnel project is a significant achievement for both CPBJH JV and CREG, and we are proud to have played a part in this success," said Mr. Rauer, General Manager of CREGA. "Our Box Jacking Machine has once again proven its reliability and effectiveness, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with CPBJH JV as we work together to complete the remaining cross passages."
After completing the first cross passage, the machine will be disassembled and reassembled at the second launching point. A total of 17 cross passages will be built using CREG's Box Jacking Machine, which will continue to play a critical role in the success of the West Gate Tunnel.
