Construction of the 12 kilometer long railway tunnel started in Suzak in the Turkic republic of Kyrgyzstan. It is only one of the tunnel in the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. Total length of tunnels in this path will be more than 120 kilometers of tunnels.

All equipment (all made in China) imported to Kyrgyzstan will be exempt from customs duty. President Japarov had said earlier that China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is fully aligned with China's Belt and Road Initiative.
