Schwamborn WDS 530 has been used in the renovation work on the asbestos infected walls of Brussel's Leopold II tunnel

German company Schwamborn manufactures products which are used on the surfaces of buildings. Especially one model is getting more and more popular for the tunnel works: The wall and ceiling grinding machine WDS 530.

Schwamborn WDS 530 has already won innovation prize at the famed BAUMA exhibition. The machine is used for  the removal of deposits on walls and ceilings and decreases the health risks of the workers, especially when there are contaminants on the walls like asbestos.

Belgian company De Meuter has used Schwamborn WDS 530 in combination with the robotic arms of Brokk to remove an asbestos-containing black paint in the Leopold II tunnel. Thanks to Schwamborn WDS 530, the contaminated layer of paint could be removed in a much faster and healthier way.
