17,5 km Anding Tunnel with the most complex geological conditions and most difficult construction on the China-Laos-Kunming-Wanzhou Railway finish September 30.
Xinhuanet report on July 26, two inclined shafts (2-1 and 2-2 inclined) are connected.Anding Tunnel is on collision zone of Indian Ocean plate and the Eurasian plate. It crosses the Ailao Mountain and has complex geological conditions.
Anding Tunnel is a very high-risk tunnel with 21 faults on its way. Mainly IV and V grade soft rock. The China Railway Fifth Bureau is responsible for construction.

Also a 14.5-km tunnel on the Kunming-Vientiane Railway to link China with Laos has been bored through, the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway) said.
