Nepal Nagdhunga-Naubise tunnel project: Japanese company wins leaves 5 Chinese company in cold
Himalayan Times news says Japanese company Hazama Ando Corporation beats 5 Chínese companies to to construct the 2.69-kilometre-long Nagdhunga-Naubise Katmandu tunnel. 6 Companies bidded for the project.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) lends $141.41 million to Nepalese government. Project cost is estimated around $188.19 million.

Nagdhunga Tunnel Construction Project in limbo. Japanese contractor Hazama Ando Corporation wants to import explosives from India but Nepali Army insist it to buy NA explosives. Explosives are required to blast the rocks.

OK. Japan International Cooperation Agency pays for it. Hmmmm. Do you not think China offered same or maybe even better terms? China loans billions in far away Africa do you think they will not do in neghbour Nepal?
It is not Japanese company success, It is Nepal choice. Nepal wants no stronger China influence in Nepal. Why should they? Look at Tibet, look at Uyghurland. So they choose Japanese money and contractor.
