The victim, Joaquim (Jack) Silva, a 54-year-old man from Mississauga employed with Technicore Underground Inc., sustained fatal injuries while servicing a damaged pipeline.
Following a lengthy criminal investigation, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, Joseph Di Millo, Technicore Project Supervisor, was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Negligence Causing Death.
He was released and will attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
In addition, on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Technicore Underground Inc. was served a Criminal Summons charged with one count of Criminal Negligence Causing Death.
Technicore Underground Inc. is required to attend court on Friday, May 31, 2024.
